Founded in 1914, the Kew Gardens Civic Association works on behalf of Kew Gardens homeowners and COOP owners to maintain and improve the community by engaging elected officials, business owners, and other community stakeholders.

Mission

Our mission is to create a better Kew Gardens through engaging with politicians and public officials at all levels. From fighting the borough-based jail to saving our beloved bridge stores to keeping pressure on the Mayor’s office to take action on the Umbrella Hotel, volunteers work throughout the year to help our neighbors.

About the KGCA

Founded in 1914, the Kew Gardens Civic Association (KGCA) is open to all Kew Gardens homeowners. We advocate for the interests of homeowners with civic and cultural organizations and municipal, state and federal officials and elected representatives. In December 2021, the governing board expanded membership to Kew Gardens cooperative and condominium corporations.

Monthly Board meetings are held from September to June on Zoom. We invite all KGCA members to sit in at these meetings. In addition to occasional special programs, our Annual Meeting in June is attended by elected officials.

The Kew Gardens Civic Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) organization under the IRS code and chartered as a New York State not for profit corporation.
