Founded in 1914, in the County of Queens, New York City - the Kew Gardens Civic Association works on behalf of Kew Gardens homeowners and COOP owners, to maintain and improve the neighborhood community by engaging our residents, property stakeholders, elected officials and business owners.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a better Kew Gardens through engaging with politicians and public officials at all levels. From advocating for our residents and neighborhood, fighting the borough-based jail program, endeavoring to save our beloved local small-business stores that reside on Lefferts Blvd Bridge and much more, our volunteer Board Members work throughout the year to help our neighbors and strengthen our community.
About the KGCA
Founded in 1914, the Kew Gardens Civic Association (KGCA) is open to all Kew Gardens homeowners. We advocate for the interests of homeowners with civic and cultural organizations and municipal, state and federal officials and elected representatives. In December 2021, the governing board expanded membership to Kew Gardens cooperative and condominium corporations.
Monthly Board meetings are held from September to June. We invite all KGCA members to sit in at these meetings. In addition to occasional special programs, our Annual Meeting in June is attended by elected officials.
The Kew Gardens Civic Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) organization under the IRS code and chartered as a New York State not for profit corporation.
