“A community is what its citizens make it”.
Since 1914, the Kew Gardens Civic Association has worked to keep our community’s issues and concerns top of mind with public officials.
Our mission is to create a better Kew Gardens through engaging with public officials at all levels. From fighting the borough-based jail to saving our beloved bridge stores to keeping pressure on the Mayor’s office to take action on the Umbrella Hotel, volunteers work throughout the year to help our neighbors.

There are over 950 homeowners and an estimated 30 coop buildings within the boundaries of the KGCA. In December 2021, for the first time since it’s founding in 1914 the KGCA Board of Governors voted to expand membership to coops and condos at the corporate level. In 2025 KGCA added a “friends” category for any resident of Kew Gardens to join our email list as a supporter. Join us to create a better Kew Gardens community for all.
